In May 2004 a party of 16 Adults from Barby visited Stourport for a long weekend.
Our visitors arrived early afternoon on Thursday 20th May and were greeted by their hosts and taken home.
On Thursday evening a welcome meal was had in the Parish Room with their host families and members of our congregation.

Old friendships being renewed

New friendships being made

One of the longest friendships still going

On Friday morning we all went our own ways before meeting up for a trip down the Teme Valley to visit some country churhes and have tea.
Here one group walks around the Basin in Stourport in the morning.

Here is the group outside the Church of St. Andrew, at Stockton-on-Teme, during our ride around the Teme Valley

We ended up in the Village Hall at Clifton-on-Teme for a High Tea, prepared by the local Clifton Ladies as part of their fund raising activities.

Saturday morning was also a go your own way. This group went to Wenlock Abbey. Phil and Christine are listening to the portable comentary, but Connie seems to be a little disinterested!
We all met up in Worcester in the afternoon where, after a bit of shopping, we attended the Cathedral for Sung Evensong. After that it was home for evening meal.

On Sunday morning we all went to Church at St. Michael's.
Then, after a visit to our partner church All Saint's at Wilden, we went to the Rock Tavern for lunch

On Sunday evening we had a farewell meal in Church. The younger visitors amused themselves while the adults chatted.

And here a two pictures that got taken on the way round.
.

Then it was Monday and time to go home. The group met at Church to wait for the coach to arrive.

Klaus had bought a new camera and had been appointed "Photogapher" for the visit, he kept working right to the end.

And finally Coniston Coaches arrived to take the visitors off to Luton.
11 of our young members are going to Barby in August and plans are in hand for a 10 year celebration of the partnership next year.
